In this weekend of teachings Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will continue his exposition of the classic Mahayana text on buddha nature, the Uttaratantra Shastra. This foundational text stands at the heart of the Great Vehicle’s teaching that each and every living being possesses a fundamentally pure awakened nature and therefore has the potential to awaken to perfect buddhahood. Kongtrul Rinpoche, with his joyful and insightful teaching style, will bring the wisdom of these teachings to light in a way that makes them accessible and inspiring to contemporary practitioners.
About the Teacher
Born in the Northern Indian province of Himachal Pradesh to Tibetan parents, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche grew up in a monastic environment. Recognized as an incarnation of Jamgon Kongtrul Lodro Thaye, he received the teachings of the Nyingma lineage, especially that of the Longchen Nyingtik, from his root teacher, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.
