Losar Anniversary Weekend
Lama Gerry Prindiville, Claude Herail
February 17 - 19, 2012
Please gather with us at Rangjung Yeshe Gomde for three days of practice, prayer, study and celebration Friday through Sunday, February 17-19th. We will be commemorating the anniversary of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche’s passing, the fourteenth anniversary of the founding of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde, and the coming of the Tibetan Year of the Water Dragon. We will perform multiple tsoks in honor of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and all of our teachers. Even if you cannot be present, you can gain the same merit by making a donation for the tsoks and supporting our efforts from afar. We can send out our schedule if you would like to practice wherever you are in unison with us.
This retreat is a wonderful time for Sangha to gather to do tsok and group practice. The tsoks and practice sessions will be led by Lama Gerry Prindiville and Claude Herail who have completed three year retreats.
The event begins Friday evening with a light supper at 6:00 pm. We will perform a Vajra Kilaya tsok with protectors’ practice starting at 7:00 pm. On Saturday we will have four main group practice sessions, with a Trinley Nyingpo tsok in the morning. That afternoon or evening, depending on the schedule, there will be DVDs of our teachers’ life stories and their teachings and time for Sangha to visit. Sunday there will be an early morning practice and after breakfast there will be another Trinley Nyingpo Tsok. We will conclude the retreat on Sunday at about 1 pm. Retreatants may wish to stay on for individual retreat and would need to set that up in advance.
Suggested fees are $50 for the weekend, which includes meals. One day is $35. All meals will be provided, but we need volunteers to pitch in with meal preparation and cleanup. For those who would like to lodge on the land there is a small fee to either have a room or to stay in the Buddha Hall. Stonegate Villa is also available for lodging and they can be reached at 707-925-6226.
Tsok Offering: We will do a “Dessert Tsok” on Friday evening and “Lunch- Tsoks” on Saturday and Sunday. You are welcome to bring offerings of appropriate food –stuff( like sliced cheeses, meats, crackers, breads, vegetables and dips, desserts, fruits, and drinks or whatever else you would like to offer for the occasion) . Flowers for the shrine room make a great offering as well. Because we will have a big group it will be helpful if you can let Hilda at hrgold@comcast.net know what you would like to offer so she can coordinate.
Registration: Room space is limited but there is plenty of room in the Buddha Hall. Please contact us early if you wish to stay on-site. Let us know what days you will be there so we can plan meals; what nights you need a room, whether you are willing to stay in the Buddha Hall and what offering you would like to bring for the three tsoks. If you would like to join, register online, or contact Hilda Goldman at hrgold@comcast.net.
Please RSVP!!!
