Kumara Internship Program

We invite interested students to participate in the sixth year of the Kumara Internship Program, a combination of learning, meditation, and work. The program offers committed young Dharma students an opportunity to spend the summer on Gomde’s land in an atmosphere of practice, learning and work. Interns will be able to attend Gomde's teaching programs and practices, culminating with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche's Madhyamika teachings July 28 - August 1.

Interns will receive in-depth instruction in Buddhist disciplines under the guidance of resident Lama Tsultrim Sangpo as well as senior students. They can also learn basic Tibetan language. In exchange, interns will spend four hours each day carrying out valuable work toward the upkeep of the 250-acre center.

Qualifications

Age 18-30
Possess various skills to facilitate the running of the center and programs, and/or physical labor
Program is limited to 10-15 participants
Program dates June 25 - August 1, 2010
There is a fee of $500-800 (sliding scale) to cover food and basic living expenses
