Personal Retreats
Special Summer 2010 Retreat Program This summer Gomde will be offering personal retreats under the guidance of Lama Tsultrim. Khenpo Sherab and Ani Dekyi Chodron will also be available for meetings during their residency. The $35 daily fee includes a tent cabin in the peaceful campground, 3 meals a day, meditation and practice support, and access to group practices and study groups. A donation for Lama's support is strongly encouraged. Space may not be available during some teaching programs. Scheduling a personal retreat before or after a regular teaching program allows the time to truly implement the teachings. Of particular interest may be late June to mid-July, during the period between Khenpo Sherab’s teachings on the “Four Stakes That Bind the Life Force” in Alameda and Ani Dekyi Chodron’s two programs on Chod and Green Tara. Please contact Ani Marcia for reservations at programs@gomdeusa.org Accommodations Private retreat accommodations at Gomde include: River House: three bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry facilities, and a back deck overlooking the Eel River. Large one bedroom trailer with full kitchen and queen bed. Can sleep 4 people. Suitable for lodging during seminars and more open-style retreats during the off-season. Both structures have fully equipped kitchens and bath. Mattresses, blankets, and pillows are provided. Please bring your own bed linens and towels, or rent a package for $15. You are responsible for your own food and meals. Staff members may be able to help with some shopping needs, depending on their schedules and committments. Retreatants are welcome to join staff in the Sangha House Shrine Room for morning and evening practices, as well as any special ritual or feast offerings. The Shrine Room is also available for individual practice sessions. A library of over 600 Buddhist titles is open to all residents. Groups of up to 20 may also rent the Sangha House Kitchen and Shrine Room for their own use. The Buddha Hall, which can hold 150, is also available on advance notice. Pricing for Individual Retreats River House: $65 a day/$390 week/$1590 month. Trailer: $75/day Each additional person: $10/day 15% discount for members of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde California. 25% deposit required with a credit card, along with a refundable security and cleaning deposit of $75. Gomde offers a serene and powerful environment for individual retreats. Retreat accommodations are available when programs are not in session. Retreats can range from a weekend to a month. The blessings of the lineage and the auspiciousness of the land combine to create an extraordinary experience. Some retreatants mingle practice sessions with time spent appreciating Gomde's unique natural environment. Walking trails crisscross 250 secluded acres of woods and meadows and meander along the banks of the rushing Eel River. Others choose to do an exclusively indoor retreat.
