Rangjung Yeshe Gomde

Dzogchen Meditation and Retreat Center

Personal Retreats

The wild beauty of Rangjung Yeshe Gomde is an ideal environment for personal meditation practice. The waters of Eel River and Cedar creek flow through stands of fir and pine, and ever-changing light pours into the river valley. The natural environment of Gomde supports a sense of renunciation and awe in our residents. In addition to the splendid setting, many Tibetan masters have blessed the land with their practice and realization.

Buddhist practitioners are welcome to engage in closed retreat, combine their personal practice with participation in Gomde’s many teaching and meditation programs, or simply enjoy our 250 acres of woods, meadows and river views.

Our tent cabins rest on elevated wooden platforms, nestled throughout our beautiful campgrounds. Choose cabins with one or two beds in a variety of environments, including manzanita groves, pine-shaded alcoves, and wildflower-dotted meadows.

Includes:

  • One or two beds
  • Full sets of sheets, down comforters, duvet covers, pillows, and pillow cases
  • Rug
  • Dresser

Cliff Retreat Hut

Our cliff retreat hut gives retreatants the opportunity to practice in nearly total isolation. Positioned on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Gomde river valley, retreatants can expect trails of mist in the morning and golden sunsets in the evening. The amenities are sparse, as the cabin does not have running water or electricity. Summer retreatants are welcome to attend community meals, practices and classes during their stays. If you are interested in a solitary retreat meals can be brought to you. Please notify the Land Manager for this special service. Restrooms and showers are a short walk down a forested trail to our campground facility. Water is provided in barrels.
