Annual New Year’s Vajrasattva Retreat
Lama Gerry Prindiville
December 29, 2017 - January 6, 2018
Gomde’s annual New Year’s retreat focuses on the deity Vajrasattva, an expression of the ultimate purity of our intrinsic nature. Through this profound practice we purify the afflictions that arise due to our accumulation of negative actions, clear our mental obscurations, and reveal our stainless essence. This retreat period offers us the possibility to enter the coming year with newfound clarity and openness.
This year, the retreat will remain “open” for the initial three days. At the end of the third day we will close Gomde’s gates and institute a traditional retreat boundary for the remainder of our time together. This is a special opportunity for us to become familiar with the ways in which practitioners have structured strict retreat since the time of the Buddha.
Daily group practice sessions will be combined with detailed instruction on all stages of the practice. We encourage full participation in the retreat, but partial attendance is accepted for the first three days.
Please keep in mind that offsite lodging is not permitted following the initial three-day open segment of the retreat.
Practitioners of all levels are welcome to attend.
